1. Improving Scrolling Experience

You may have sometime felt scrolling on your device is not fluid enough and feels unnatural. Here is how you can modify your maximum and minimum fluid velocity of your device. You will need a root file explorer. Using the root explorer open the file /system/build.prop and add/edit the following lines:

windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=150
ro.min_pointer_dur=8 ro.max.fling_velocity=12000
ro.min.fling_velocity=8000

2. Enable Lock Screen Rotation

You may for some reason want to use your big screen phone in landscape mode mostly and it drives you crazy to see the lock screen not properly landscape oriented. Here is how to solve it. Using a root explorer open /system/build.prop file and add/edit the following lines:

lockscreen.rot_override=true

3. Improve Net Speed

You can improve your overall net speed by tweaking the TCP buffer size of the device. Moreover you can use Google DNS to improve net performance further. Using root file explorer edit/system/build.prop file and add following lines:

net.tcp.buffersize.default=4096,87380,256960,4096, 16384,256960

net.tcp.buffersize.wifi=4096,87380,256960,4096,163 84,256960

net.tcp.buffersize.umts=4096,87380,256960,4096,163 84,256960

net.tcp.buffersize.gprs=4096,87380,256960,4096,163 84,256960

net.tcp.buffersize.edge=4096,87380,256960,4096,163 84,256960

net.dns1=8.8.8.8

net.dns2=8.8.4.4

4. Keep Backlit Capacitive Keys On While Screen Awake

If you have backlit navigation keys in your device, you may configure them to stay on as long as the screen is awake. Open /system/build.prop file in any root explorer and add the following line:

ro.mot.buttonlight.timeout=0

5. Android Performance Tuner

Android comes with a performance tuner of its own. However it is disabled by Google by default. Enabling it improves RAM management and processing. In root explorer open /system/build.prop file and put the following lines:

debug.performance.tuning=1

There are plenty more things you can do using a root file explorer. But remember to always reboot your device after changing the build.prop file. RootMaster Apk Download Also make sure to keep a backup of the original build.prop file in case something goes wrong and your device fails to boot. You could technically restore the original build.prop file using recovery and adb tools. But that is a story for another day. Enjoy tweaking your android device.
